How Does A Metaverse Work?
In our last article, we looked at some details about the metaverse like what it is exactly and why we need metaverse. This particular article is a continuation, and so you may need to read through the previous article, if you haven’t already. Please like, comment and share your thoughts or questions.
As we have seen earlier, the metaverse is a combination of several elements in technology. Aspects of technology such as virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) are important for users to “live” or as the case may be, “have a life” within the digital universe. Life as we know it today will be incorporated into the metaverse with activities like working, playing and staying connected with friends through everything from concerts and conferences to virtual trips around the world.
The technology and application of the metaverse is similar to what we have with the internet, except that instead of using phones, computers, and browsers, we will put on virtual reality helmets or augmented reality glasses (depending on the metaverse). The same way you use your phones and computers to surf the internet is the same way the these VR helmets and AR glasses will be used to surf the metaverse, attend and chat in Zoom meetings, or even study a course on EDX. This is how the metaverse will work in practice.
Imagine the metaverse as the next phase of the Internet.
